Single Hung Windows
An operating style of window with a lower sash that slides upward and the upper sash is fixed.

Some types of spacer bar conduct more heat or allow more cooling than others, making the glass colder in the winter or warmer in the summer.
Some types of spacer bars will hold their seal longer than others.
At one time, there was a significant difference in spacer bars from one manufacturer to another. Today there is a very marginal difference between the best and worst performers.
Experts Recommend: When comparing performance, more weight should be placed on the type of glass than on the types of spacer bars.
